Connectors & Operation
This section provides theory-of-operation and connection information for the
Standalone Digital MMC Control. See
The Standalone Digital MMC Control converts +24 Vdc input power to various DC
voltage levels that power the logic side of the Control. This same 24 Vdc power is also
routed to any MMC Option Modules that may be connected to the Control.
Three lights on the front of the Control (Scan, Power, and Diagnostic) provide
operational and diagnostic information, as described in
The Control does the following after +24 Vdc input power is applied:
Performs diagnostic tests.
Checks the battery.
Performs routine maintenance tasks.
Executes the application program.
Communicates with any attached MMC Option Modules.
Communicates with any Block I/O connected to the Block I/O port.
Communicates with workstation connected to the PiCPro port.
Communicates with any serial device(s) connected to the User Port.
Communicates with any device(s) connected to the Ethernet Port.
Communicates with any Digital MMC Smart Drives that are connected to one of
the four Digital Link branches.
