4. Connect a water hose to the flushing
devise and turn on the water and
adjust the flow so that excess water
continues leaking out from around
the rubber cups to ensure the engine
is receiving an adequate supply of
cooling water.

position and start the engine and run
at idle speed for 3-5 minutes.
6. Check if a steady stream of water
flows from the cooling water check
port.
7. Stop the engine and turn off the

water. Remove the flushing devise.
Install the propeller.
8. Leave the outboard motor in vertical
position to completely drain the cool-
ing water from the outboard motor.

Fuse replacement

Before replacing a fuse, disconnect the bat-
tery cable from the battery negative (-) ter-
minal first. Failure to properly remove
battery cables may cause a short-circuit.

Never use a fuse with a rating that exceeds
the specified rating as this could cause seri-
ous damage to the electrical system.
If the fuse is blown, try to determine the
cause and respond to the problem as

simply replacing the fuse will likely be
blown again. If you are unable to respond
to the cause or the fuse continues to
blow, request an authorized Tohatsu
dealer for inspection.
