Replacing Power Fan Modules

Both system fan modules and power supply fans simultaneously cool down the system.
Changing a System Fan
1. Determine which fan is failing. It is recommended that BMC should be checked in
advance. While the power is on, locate the failed fan module.
2. Slide the lever on the handle to the unlocked position, and rotate the handle to pull the
failed fan module out of the chassis.
3. Replace the failed fan with a new one, making sure it is within model specifications.
4. Insert the new fan module into the housing until it is secured and running.
5. Confirm that the fans are working properly and ensure no objects obstruct airflow in the
front and rear of the server.
The control panel LEDs display system heat status. See
