The STRDPOW output indicates the controlled switching status i.e. a valid operation command
(Close or Open) has been received and the output command is for controlled operation of the
breaker. STRDPOW will not be set if a bypass command is received. The output is set immediately
after detecting a valid controlled operation command and is reset when the last control output is
deactivated at the end of the operation.

Waveform (disturbance) records

For recording the actual time stamps of the controlled switching command outputs in the disturbance
records (waveform records) and event lists, SSCPOW triggers outputs DRCLTIMLx or DROPTIMLx
for an input Close or Open command respectively. Each output is activated at the time stamp of the
associated command output and remains active until the switching operation in that phase is
completed.

Circuit breaker test mode

In CB test mode, SSCPOW initiates mechanical CB operations under control from CBLEARN, in
order to obtain (learn) the mechanical switching times of each CB pole. This mode is activated via
the CBTSMODE input.
With CBTSMODE active, SSCPOW receives switching commands (from CBLEARN) through the
coordination input CRDBLSSX, to generate Close, Open, or Emergency Trip commands at its
outputs.

Circuit Breaker Operating Capability

The operating capability of a circuit breaker is defined as its capability to perform a sequence of
Close and Open operations, based on the actual drive energy. This information is received by
SSCPOW (usually from MONALM function) at the input CBOPCAPIN. SSCPOW further updates the
CB's operating capability on its outputs CBOPCAPL1, CBOPCAPL2 and CBOPCAPL3 as shown in
Table 51.

Circuit Breaker Position

The circuit breaker (or switch) position is defined by its electrical and mechanical status. This
information is received by SSCPOW (usually from ACBMSCBR function) at the inputs CBSTSCFLx.
Without any modification, SSCPOW further updates the received CB position status on its outputs
SWTPOSLx.

Emergency Trip

An emergency trip is an immediate trip or open operation issued by SSCPOW. The function issues
an emergency trip when:
