mines wheth er a surge event is stored in the com pres sor
map. When the Leaving Chilled Liquid Tem per a ture is
within +0.3 and -0.8ºF of the Setpoint and the rate of
change of this liq uid exceeds the pro grammed Sta bil i ty
Lim it index, the sys tem is considered unstable and a surge
event that oc curs un der these con di tions is not stored. The
in dex is pro gram ma ble over the range of 1000 to 7000,
with the Default or nominal being 4500. The pro ce dure
to change these is described below.
The ACC Surge Map can be printed. By connecting a
Printer and performing the procedure below, all pre vi -
ous ly established surge points can be printed. Also, while
leaving a Printer connected, all new surge Points can be
printed as they are established. The Map can be cleared
using the procedure below. However, it should never be
cleared unless advised by the YORK Factory.
If required, an operating point can be established as a
Surge Point by pressing the Manual surge Point key and
then pressing a switch on the ACC Board. The op er at ing
conditions at that instant will be captured and stored as
a surge point. This is known as a Manual Surge Point.
Refer to procedure below.
The Kilowatt Hour (KWH) accumulation can be cleared
or set to a value using the KWH RESET key as de scribed
below. This should not be performed un less ad vised by
the YORK Factory.
Full Load Amps Calibration:
1. Place Compressor Start/Stop Switch in the Stop-
Re set (O) position.
2. At the keypad, log in at SERVICE access level
us ing access code 1 3 8 0.
3. Select VSD DETAILS Screen from the MO TOR
Screen.
4. In the VSD, locate the small trimpot located in the
upper-middle area of the VSD Logic Board.
5. While monitoring the VSD Full Load Amps 000.0
A message on the VSD DETAILS Screen, ad just
this trimpot until the correct Full Load Amps val ue
is displayed. Clockwise will increase the val ue.

Pre-rotation Vanes Position Potentiometer:

When initially installed, the Potentiometer should be
set so that the feedback voltage, as measured between
the wiper (white wire) and common (black wire) is 0.3
to 0.7VDC.
YORK INTERNATIONAL
1. Place Compressor Start/stop Switch in the Stop-
Reset (O) position and wait until the "Coastdown"
is complete.
2. At the Keypad, log in at SERVICE access level
us ing access code 1 3 8 0.
3. Select the PRV CALIBRATE Screen from the
COM PRES SOR Screen.
4. On the PRV CALIBRATE Screen, press the START
CALIB key to initiate the calibration.
The CALIBRATION IN PROGRESS LED will
il lu mi nate, the PRV opening LED will illuminate
and an open signal is applied to the PRV. When the
feed back voltage from the PRV potentiometer stops
in creas ing, the ACC Board as sumes this is the full
open position and logs this value as 100% open. It
then applies a close sig nal to the PRV and il lu mi nates
the PRV Opening LED. When the feed back volt age
stops decreasing, the ACC Board as sumes this is the
fully closed position and logs it as 0% open. These
end point voltages are stored in the BRAM as the
fully closed and fully open po si tions.
The calibration procedure can be ter-
mi nat ed at any during the procedure
by pressing the CAN CEL CALIB key.
If the PRV were pre vi ous ly cal i brat ed
suc cess ful ly, it will re vert to using the
pre vi ous cal i bra tion val ues. If they
were not pre vi ous ly calibrated suc-
cess ful ly, Vari able Speed con trol will
be in hib it ed and the VSD will op er ate
at fi xed speed.
5. If the difference between the endpoint volt ag es is
not greater then 0.49VDC, or if an end point is not
detected with in 8 minutes, the calibration is con-
sid ered "un suc cess ful".
Setpoints:
The following are the Setpoints and range of pro gram -
ma ble values. The Default val ue is shown in pa ren the sis.
It is the rec om mend ed val ue and should provide proper
operation in most ap pli ca tions. Nev er change these val-
ues unless advised by YORK Factory Ser vice.
a. Surge Margin – 0.0 to 25.0 Hz. (0.0)
b. Stability Limit – 1000 to 7000 (4500)
