On Mod "B" Solid State Starter applications, the con tacts
remain closed at shutdown until all SCR Heatsink tem-
peratures are <105ºF or a maximum of 45 minutes.
If it is desired to supply the dry contacts with 115VAC
pow er from the OptiView Control Panel to control the
Con dens er Pump Motor Starter, a fi eld installed wire
must be con nect ed from TB5-22 to I/O Board TB2-150.
Then connect I/O Board TB2-151 to the Con dens er
Pump Motor Starter.
K6-K 9 - Not Used
K10 - Oil Heater ("P" compressors and all style F and
later chillers equipped with Flash Memory Card ver-
sion C.MLM.01.07.xxx or later version) (TB1-64/17)
Contacts operate the same as K15.
K11 - Oil Pump Starter (TB 1-29/1) (Style C and
earlier chillers)
In automatic op er a tion, contacts close 13 seconds after
"System Prelube" is initiated. Contacts open at com-
ple tion of "System Coastdown". In manual Oil Pump
op er a tion, the con tacts close for the duration of manual
pump op er a tion. Anytime the chiller is not in "System
Run" or "Sys tem Coastdown" and a motor current val ue
of >15%FLA is detected, the contacts close until mo tor
cur rent is no longer detected, whereupon a com plete "Sys-
tem Coastdown" is performed. If Standby Lu bri ca tion is
en abled, contacts close for 2 minutes ev ery 24 hours since
the oil Pump was last au to mat i cal ly or man u al ly run.
K12 - Oil Return Solenoid (all styles, fi xed or vari able
speed oil pump). Liquid Line Solenoid (style D and
later chillers - "J" com pres sor only, vari able speed
oil pump). Vent line Solenoid (style C and earlier
chillers, fi xed speed oil pump). (TB1-61)
Contacts close 1minute after "System Run" is ini ti at ed.
They open on chill er shutdown coincident with the be-
gin ning of "System Coastdown".
K13 - Compressor Motor Starter (start) (TB1-6/16)
Contacts close coincident with the beginning of "Sys-
tem Run". They remain closed for 0.2 seconds and then
open.

K14 - Compressor Motor Stop (stop) (TB 1-6/16)
Con tacts close coincident with the beginning of "Sys tem
Run". They remain closed for the duration of "Sys tem
Run". They open coincident with the beginning of "Sys-
tem Coastdown".
K15 - (TB1 -34/1)
Oil Heater (Style D/E all compressor codes ex cept
"P"; Vari able Speed Oil Pump)
Contacts are open whenever the Oil Pump is op er at ing.
When the Oil Pump is not op er at ing, the contacts are
op er at ed to maintain the Oil Tem per a ture at a tar get
val ue of 50ºF above the Condenser Saturated Tem-
per a ture from a minimum of 110ºF to a maximum of
160ºF. The con tacts close when the Oil Temperature
de creas es to 4ºF below target value; open at 3ºF above
the target val ue.
Liquid Line Solenoid (Style C and earlier chillers,
fi xed speed oil pump)
• Electro-Mechanical and Solid State Starter ap pli ca tions:
Contacts close 1 minute after "System Run" is initi-
ated.
• Compressor Motor Variable Speed Drive ap pli ca -
tions: After chiller has been running for > 1 minute,
contacts close if oil temperature reach es > 140ºF.
They remain closed until the oil temperature de-
creas es to < 135ºF, whereupon they de-en er gize.
K16 - High Speed Thrust Solenoid (Style C and ear-
lier chillers; Fixed Speed Oil Pump)(TB1-62/1)
Contacts close 15 sec onds after "System Run" is ini-
ti at ed. They open on chiller shut down coincident with
the beginning of "Sys tem Coastdown".
K17 - Condenser Motor Pump Starter (TB1- 164)
(If chiller is equipped with Mod "B" Solid State
Starter, use K5 above)
Contacts operate the same as K14.
K18 - Compressor Motor Starter (TB5-22/25)
Run Status (TB2-35/36)
Contacts operate the same as K14.
