Troubleshooting
The following chart is designed to help you correct problems which are not equipment malfunctions.
If you are unable to locate the cause of a problem or solve it through the use of this chart, contact your nearest Icom Dealer or
Service Center.
PROBLEM
Power does not come
on
when
pushed.
No sound comes from
the speaker.
Sensitivity is too low,
and only strong signals
are audible.
Receive audio is dis-
torted.
Receive signal is dis-
torted by strong sig-
nals.
The frequency shift of
the RIT function cannot
be added/subtracted.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• DC power cable is improperly connected. • Reconnect the power cable correctly.

12 V battery as the power source.

MAINTENANCE
SOLUTION
• Check for the cause, repair it, then re-
place the fuse with a similar rate one.
(Fuse is installed in the DC power cable)
• Check the battery voltage.
• Rotate [AF] clockwise to obtain a suit-
able listening level.
• Rotate [RF/SQL] to 12 o'clock position
to open the squelch.
