TROUBLESHOOTING
Mi Troubleshooting chart
The following chart is designed to help you correct
problems which are not equipment malfunctions.

e Volume level is too low.
e The squelch is closed.
e An external speaker or headphones
are connected.
e CW narrow mode is selected without
an optional
FL-52A
or FL-53A
CW
NARROW FILTER.
e FM mode is selected without an op-
tional UI-9 FM UNIT.
e The antenna
is not connected

perly.
e The coaxial cable is cut or shorted.
e An antenna not suitable for the oper-
ating frequency is connected.
e An antenna
is not properly tuned
when using an optional AH-3 HF AU-
TOMATIC ANTENNA TUNER.
e The attenuator is activated.
e The preamp is cancelled.
e The noise blanker is ON.
e The preamp is ON.
If you cannot solve a problem, contact your nearest
icom Dealer or Service Center.

dial lock function.

e Check the coaxial cable and correct
any improper conditions.
e Connect an antenna suitable for the
operating frequency.
e Push and hold the [TUNE] switch until
"TUNE" blinks to re-tune the antenna.

e Push the [PREAMP/ATT]

time to activate the preamplifier,

required.
e Push the [NB] switch to cancel the
noise blanker.
