2.6.8 DataLink (optional)

DataLink can be added to VisualEyes™ 515 and VisualEyes™ 525 through the "EOG Accessory kit for
VNG". This can be used to perform ENG tests for patients who cannot be tested with VNG goggles. DataLink
measures eye position with electrodes attached to the patient. The EOG Patient Cable connectes to the
DataLink, and the color coded lead wires connect to the EOG Patient Cable and snap on the electrodes
attached to the patient. For instructions on electrode montage and impedance testing, please refer to section
3.5.3.
DataLink is compatible with the below tests if licensed:
NOTICE DataLink is not compatible with any rotary chair tests.

Hardware setup:
1. Connect the 9-Pin connector from the EOG Patient cable to the EOG connector on the rear panel of
the DataLink.
2. Connect the USB type B connector to the USB PC port on the back of the DataLink, and connect the
other end to the computer or the USB hub. The green A/D Status LED next to the USB port on the
DataLink should turn on.
3. Connect the mains cable to the power entry on the back of the DataLink.
4. Power on the DataLink using the power switch on the rear panel. The green Power LED on the front
panel of the DataLink should turn on.

section 2.8: Hardware registration and licensing.
NOTICE: The VNG goggles must be registered and licensed before registering the DataLink.

When configuring a DataLink in combination with an Orion Reclining, a System 2000 Reclining, or a System
2000 Comprehensive chair, sometimes the DataLink board (minilab 1008) is detected first and becomes
board#0 in Instacal. This can conflict with the communication between the chair and the VisualEyes™
software.
