2.6.1.2

Top mount goggles

The VisualEyes™ top mount goggles come with an easy-to-place cover over the portal for vision--denied
testing. Side-lights on the goggles are programmed to flash to remind the operator which ear to irrigate
during the caloric test and are also used to provide illumination when placing the cover on the goggles. The
knobs on the top side of the goggle adjust the focus for the optimal image, and the switch on the left side of
the goggles can be used to start and stop tests. The top mount goggles have an adjustable velcro head strap
that secures the goggles while still providing patient comfort.

Hardware setup:
1. Connect the USB mini-B connectors to the connectors on the top side of the goggle.
2. Connect the other end of the USB cables to the supplied USB hub. Ensure that the hub is powered
through the external power supply. If used with a rotary chair, the goggles plug in to the connectors
on the chair.
3. Register the top mount goggles as "Top Mount Camera" in the the VisualEyes™ software, following
the instructions in section 2.8: Hardware registration and licensing.
2.6.1.3

Front mount goggles

The front mount goggles use a single USB camera pressed into the camera portal on the front of the
goggle's mask. The camera can be placed into either camera portal to record the desired eye, and the focus
can be adjusted for the optimal image using the knob in the center of the camera. The cable is secured in the
cable clip above the portal. Each portal has a swivel cover plate to provide vision-denied testing. The
goggles have an adjustable head-strap that secures the goggles while still providing patient comfort. The
front mount goggle is also available in a version designed for smaller and younger patients.
