14.0 Troubleshooting
Problem
The display is Off even when power is
switched On.
Can't reach 4°C.
Cycle time is too long.
Lid heater does not work.
No key entry sound.
The display goes off.
Display is too dark or light.
Lid will not close.
Error message appears.
14.1 Error Messages

Cause
Power is not reaching the system.
Power cord is not plugged into the socket
properly.
Power fuse is blown out.
Block fuse is blown out.
Operating temperature environment may
be unsuitable.
Electronic cooling element may be
damaged or aged.
Operating environment temperature may
be unsuitable.
Electronic cooling element may be
damaged or aged.
Faulty temp. sensor.
Lid heater is set to Off.
Lid sensor problem.
Sound may currently be set to Off.
Faulty keys or keypad wiring.
Faulty backlight.
Faulty LCD panel.
Backlight brightness is not adjusted
properly.
Foreign matter, between lid heater and
sample block.
Faulty lid lock mechanism.
Refer to list of error messages.
Lid temperature sensor problem.
Lid temperature exceeds 132°C.
Lid temperature can't reach the set temperature.
Block temperature sensor or heating element
problems.
The unit can't reach the set temperature because
the room temperature is too high.
The block temperature exceeds 108°C.
Room temperature sensor problem.
The room temperature exceeds 30°C.
Two running units are too close to each other.
Solution
Check power source voltage.
Reconnect the power cord.
Replace the power fuse.
Return the unit for service.
Operate the unit in an environment
temperature between 15°C to 30°C.
Return the unit for service.
Operate the system in a temperature
environment between 15°C to 30°C.
Return the unit for service.
Return the unit for service.
Check Lid Temperature setting in the
System Mode.
Return the unit for service.
Check Beeper setting in the System Mode.
Return the unit for service.
Check the LCD contrast.
Return the unit for service.
Adjust Display Brightness Potentiometer.
Shut off the system. Remove the foreign
object or matter.
Return the unit for service.
Check the nature of the error, and take the
suggested actions.
Solution
Reboot the unit.
Cool down the room temperature. Reboot the unit.
Reboot the unit
Cool down the room temperature. Reboot the unit.
Remove any objects blocking the vents. Keep two
running units at least 30 cm from each other.
