6.3 Serial server

The serial server enables the serial device to access the open network. It transmits the status
and status information about the inductor, detector, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC),
and intelligent terminal collected by the RS-485 bus through the standard TCP/IP network,
thus forming the automatical system communication.
The serial server can bidirectionally transmit data between the serial interface and Ethernet
based on the TCP/IP protocol. By connecting the traditional serial interface to the Ethernet,
you can check and manage the remote device through the network. The administrator can visit
multiple serial devices from the remote control host through the TCP connection.
The Gazelle S1503i can be applied in the scenario when not only the Ethernet but also the bus
asynchronous serial interface accesses the network. You can configure the serial interface
mode of the serial server to the RS-485 interface for data transmission in various fields, such
as factory automation, power network distribution and converter station system automation,
and intelligent transportation.
