7.20.6 Connecting high-voltage cables in the metering panel

500-8384.9 • Version 11 • Installation and Operating Instructions • 8DJH
Incorrectly mounted high-voltage cables
Non-observance of the mounting stipulations can cause an internal arc during operation.
⇨ Cross-sections up to 300 mm
⇨ Mount the sealing end according to the manufacturer's stipulations.
⇨ If the manufacturer of the cable lugs, sealing ends or plugs has not made any
stipulations, the bolted joints must be tightened with max. 50 Nm.
Falling below the minimum distance of high-voltage cables
Too small minimum distances between the high-voltage cables and live or earthed parts can
cause an internal arc during operation.
⇨ Minimum distances according to IEC 61936 / VDE 0101 must be observed and checked
during the installation of the high-voltage cables.
⇨ Minimum distance for 12 kV: ≥ 120 mm
⇨ Minimum distance for 24 kV: ≥ 220 mm
⇨ If the minimum distances are too small, a dielectric test must be carried out. The test
must prove that there is no risk of flashover.
Mounting the cable-busbar (busbar-cable) type:
1. Mount the high-voltage cables at the current transformer connections.
