Attention:
Driving Vehicles
The ability of arm prosthesis wearers to operate a vehicle is determined on a case-by-case
basis. Factors include the type of fitting (amputation level, unilateral or bilateral, residual limb
conditions, design of the prosthesis) and the individual abilities of the arm prosthesis wearer
Observe your country's national driving laws when operating a vehicle. For insurance purpo-
ses, have your driving ability examined and approved by an authorised test centre. In general,
Ottobock recommends that the vehicle be professionally retrofitted (e.g. with a steering fork) to
meet each user's individual needs It is imperative that the driver is able to operate the vehicle
without any risk with the System Electric Greifer turned off. Driving with the System Electric
Greifer ON may present a risk if the System Electric Greifer inadvertently moves due to unin-
tentional muscle contraction or other causes
Caution!
The 8E33=7 Electric Greifer is equipped with a quick-disconnect adapter Before using it to
drive a vehicle, it must be positioned in such a way that slight rotation of the Greifer- which might
occur when steering a car - will not dis connect the Greifer from the prosthesis
These products may not be disposed of with household waste in some jurisdictions.
Disposal that is not in accordance with the regulations of your country may have a
detrimental impact on health and the environment Please observe the information
provided by the responsible authorities in your country regarding return and collection
processes

electrode – either 13E68 or 13E125

ring for identification purposes.
The System Electric Greifer is delivered in digital mode (dual site) with the function plug in-
