Cleaning the dust boots of the fork legs

Turn clockwise to increase damping; turn counter
clockwise to reduce damping.
Preparatory work

Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand.
Main work

Release bleeder screws
✓ Any excess pressure escapes from the interior of the
fork.

Tighten the bleeder screws.

-
Remove the motorcycle from the lift stand.
Preparatory work

Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand.

Loosen the fork protector.

Push dust boots
Info
The dust boots remove dust and coarse dirt particles
from the inside fork tubes. Over time, dirt can pene
trate behind the dust boots. If this dirt is not removed,
the oil seals behind can start to leak.
Warning
Danger of accidents
discs reduces the braking effect.

Always keep the brake discs free of oil and
grease.

Clean the brake discs with brake cleaner when
necessary.

Clean and oil the dust boots and inner fork tubes of both fork
legs.

Press the dust boots back into their normal position.

Remove excess oil.
