turn adjuster knob 1 in the
direction indicated by the
HIGH arrow.
Basic setting of spring
preload, rear
Turn the adjuster knob as far
as it will go in the LOW dir-
ection. (One-up without lug-
gage)
Turn the adjuster knob as far
as it will go in the LOW dir-
ection, then turn it 15 turns in
the HIGH direction. (One-up
with luggage)
Turn the knob as far as it
will go in the HIGH direction.
(Two-up with luggage)

DAMPING

Adjustment
Damping must be adapted to
suit the surface on which the
motorcycle is ridden and to suit
spring preload.
An uneven surface requires
softer damping than a smooth
surface.
An increase in spring preload
requires firmer damping, a
reduction in spring preload
requires softer damping.
Adjusting damping for rear
wheel
Make sure the ground is level
and firm and place the motor-
cycle on its stand.
Set the damping from the
left-hand vehicle side.
Turn adjuster knob 1 clock-
wise to increase damping.
Turn adjuster knob 1 counter-
clockwise to reduce damping.

off 6 clicks in the counter-
