Pre-Installation Requirements

Ensure that the requirements detailed in the Pre-Installation checklist are provided in the
location chosen by the user. Read each section of the site Pre-Installation guide to verify site, gas,
chiller, extraction and waste requirements are met or set during the installation process. Tick each box
in the check list as each requirement is met.

Fume extraction system installed and commissioned (125mm internal diameter
flexible connection tube is supplied with the instrument)
Electrical socket outlets available for the spectrometer/data station/chiller and
any accessories (if supplied) - must be less than 1 metre from the system
Drain/waste container available
Dry and clean gas supplies available and tested:
Argon at 80psi, with a 6mm push fit connection fitting, (optional nitrogen purge
at 45psi).
Compressed air at 30psi, with a 4mm push fit connection, for additional gas
module (7600 only).
Cooling water (12mm outside diameter plastic tubing is supplied with
instrument)
Corrosion inhibitor/testing and set-up solutions – supplied with instrument.
(Also available in the Installation and Maintenance Kit)
At least 10litres of 18Mohm.cm

2.2 Package Inspection

Check the contents of the shipment for
completeness and possible damage in
transit.
Confirm the damage indicators below are
correct.
If the contents are incomplete, or damaged,
a claim should be filed with the carrier
immediately. The local Thermo Fisher
Scientific organisation should be notified of
any damage and of any missing items, in
order to facilitate repair or replacement.

2.3 Packing List

The packing list consists of a number of items sent with the Spectrometer and accessories
necessary to made the system operational. In addition a number of consumable items are
included which may be used when commissioning the instrument. Check the packing list
