iCAP 7000 Series ICP-OES Spectrometer
Be sure to orientate the filter correctly, using the arrow marking the direction of gas
flow.
Make sure the customer is aware that they must check the gas filters periodically.
Set the argon pressure gauge to 80psi/ 5.5bar*, the nitrogen purge pressure to 45psi/ 3.0bar
to 80psi/5.5bar (if used) and the additional gas (7600 only) to 30psi/2.0 bar (if used).
*Important - Do Not Exceed 6.0 bar!
For best results purge gas should be left on all the time.

2.8 Spectrometer Power-up

2.8.1 Connect Main instrument
power supply
Connect the spectrometer power cable to a
suitable voltage supply.
Switch on the iCAP, using the switch on the
left hand side rear, and check that the
relevant LEDs on the right hand side of
iCAP are illuminated as shown below
LED 1 Starts flashing once the RF has
initialised (approximately 30 seconds)
LED 2 Off
LEDs 3-7 On
LED 8 Flashing
LED 9 Off (see section below)

2.9 Start Purge

2.9.1 Turn on the fast purge

For DUO instruments, ensure the radial
plasma view window is fitted at this
stage so a good purge can be achieved.
(Push button below LEDs on side of
instrument).

2.9.2 Check LED 9 lights up.
