GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Check oil level in all gearboxes before operation. Refer to the 'Lubrication' section of this
manual for recommended oil type and viscosity.
Lubricate all grease fittings. Refer to the grease schedule in this manual. Check that all nuts and bolts are in
place and properly tightened. Refer to the 'Maintenance' section of this manual for required bolt grades and
torques.
Check that all tires are inflated to proper specifications. Refer to the 'Maintenance' section of this manual for
required tire pressures.

Chain Guards

The FX-1800/FX1200 comes standard with single or double chain guards. Use the Parts Manual for chain
guard locations on the rotary cutter.
If your machine is equipped with single safety chains insert the first link of the 5 link chain into the first slot of
the chain rail. If your machine is equipped with double safety chains (9 links) insert the 5 middle link into the
first slot of the chain rail. Once you have the link inserted slide the 1/4" rod into the link. Continue along the
length of the chain rail until all links are inserted.
Bend the end 2" of the galvanized rod back to keep the chains from falling loose.

Tires

To reduce the possibility of the laminations separating, laminated tires should be installed with the laminations
orientated as shown.
Always install the laminated or aircraft tires onto the wheel hub with a lockwasher and with the flat side of the
nut seated against the lockwasher.
