Packaging for return to Tecan

In the event of a MagicPrep NGS instrument malfunction which cannot be resolved by running the
diagnostic self-test, the instrument will need to be returned to Tecan. Contact customer support
(section 8) to organise a replacement MagicPrep NGS instrument.
When the replacement MagicPrep NGS instrument has been received, the faulty instrument is
returned to Tecan using the packaging materials that the replacement instrument was shipped in.

Switch off the MagicPrep NGS instrument and remove the power cord from the wall plug and
then from the back of the instrument.

Ensure that the instrument has been cleaned and decontaminated following the procedures in
section 9.1. Complete a 'Decontamination Declaration form as described in section 2.8 to
include with the returned instrument.
Tecan reserves the right to refuse to deal with any MagicPrep NGS instrument or reagent
kit parts that is not accompanied by the Decontamination Declaration form.
The MagicPrep NGS instrument weighs 18.8 kg and should be lifted by two people

Using two people at each end, lift the MagicPrep NGS instrument from the bench and place it
into the white cardboard tray. The instrument feet should align in the holes of the cardboard
sheet in the white tray.

Place the protective cardboard sheets at the front and rear of the instrument and then place
the packaging foam in front of the instrument

Lift the white and printed sales packaging cover up and place it over the MagicPrep NGS
instrument. Take care that the cardboard cover fits inside the white cardboard tray.

Using two people, lift one end of the MagicPrep NGS box up and slide one of the protective
foam supports onto one end. Repeat this procedure at the other end of the packaging.

Using two people, lift the MagicPrep NGS instrument in the white cardboard box and with the
protective foam supports mounted at each end and place into the brown cardboard bottom
tray.

Place the brown cardboard sleeve over the system and foam and ensure the sleeve is inside
the bottom tray.

Place the cardboard tray into the sleeve and on top of the packages instrument and protective
foam. Place the completed and signed Decontamination Declaration form onto the cardboard
tray.

Place the cardboard top cover over the sleeve.
