Decontamination Declaration

In addition to regular system care, and in accordance with standard laboratory regulations, the
MagicPrep NGS instrument and its parts must be thoroughly decontaminated in the following
circumstances:
In the event of accidents (e.g., spillage, etc)
Before returning the MagicPrep NGS to Tecan (e.g., for repair)
Prior to storage.
Prior to disposal.
In general, before moving the MagicPrep NGS from its location
The owner of the instrument has full responsibility for the effective decontamination of all the
equipment.
Before returning the MagicPrep NGS instrument to to Tecan, the owner of the instrument must
complete and sign the Decontamination Declaration form, confirming that the decontamination has
been performed in accordance with good laboratory guidelines. Contact Tecan Genomics support to
obtain this form and refer to section Decontamination.
Tecan reserves the right to refuse to deal with any MagicPrep NGS instrument or reagent
kit parts that is not accompanied by the Decontamination Declaration form.

When opening the Magic Prep NGS front door and inserting or removing the
reagent cartridge and/or sample deck, please take care not to insert your
hand(s) into the instrument
When the front door is open, there is no power to the thermal PCR
component within the MagicPrep NGS instrument, however, there may be
residual heat that could potentially burn a hand when inserted into the
instrument
