2.4 Transport Module

The Transport Module provides the fiber link between two cascaded Primary Hubs. The Transport
Module is visually similar to an Optical Module, but with internal hardware differences to permit it to
also perform the job of a Service Module. It is not interchangeable with an Optical Module. A pair of
Transport Modules is required to create a UniTransport link.
Up to 8 Transport Modules can be installed in the front of a Primary Hub, or up to 4 Transport Modules
in the rear of a Primary Hub. It is not permitted to fit Transport Modules into both front and rear of the
same Primary Hub.
