Overview of raising and towing options at the rear

When the rear axle is lowered, it may be necessary to remove the fender to support at the wheels.
Alternatively, the semitrailer truck (uncoupled) can be raised at the joints of the rear axle control arm and lowered onto wooden blocks

so that it can be picked up again.

It is not permissible to apply force to the
crossmember in semitrailer trucks with a weight-
optimized crossmember. Weight-optimized
crossmember do not have a hole pattern for a trailer
coupling, are 3.5 mm thick and have a stamped-in
item number of A 960 312 29 35.

Immobilizing the steering wheel
L cab (Actros)
Move the steering column to the vertical position.
Secure steering wheel (1) to entrance handles
tangentially with 4 tensioning straps (2).

If you are towing the vehicle with the rear axle raised,
note the clearance of the front apron and underride
guard. If the clearance is not adequate, remove the front
skirt and/or the underride guard.

Fit tensioning straps tightly, do not pretension.
