In an emergency, you can release the spring-loaded
brake cylinders (1) mechanically if the supply pressure is
insufficient to release the parking brake.
The vehicles can be equipped with different spring-
loaded brake cylinders on each axle, e.g. spring-loaded
brake cylinders (1) with an unscrewing release screw (2)
or with a release indicator.
Release all spring-loaded brake cylinders (1) on vehicle.

Restoring spring brake cylinders to driving position

Do not use an impact wrench. Otherwise, the spring-
loaded brake cylinder (1) may be damaged.
•
Fill compressed air system up to shutoff pressure.

Detach combination brake cylinder mechanically
Tighten release screws (2) with a maximum of 35 Nm.
Do not use an impact wrench. Otherwise, the spring-
loaded brake cylinders (1) may be damaged.

Secure vehicle with chocks to prevent it from rolling.
•
Turn release screw (2) of spring-loaded brake
cylinder (1) left up to end stop in release position (4).
•
Secure vehicle with chocks to prevent it from rolling.
•
Swing lever of parking brake up to end stop in
release position (4).
•
Turn release screw (2) of spring-loaded brake
cylinder (1) right to drive position (3).
•
Tighten release screw (2) up to end stop with a
maximum of 35 Nm.
