Towing vehicles away from hazard areas
Only tow vehicle with installed propeller shaft in
exceptional circumstances, e.g. when leaving danger
zones.
Vehicles with Mercedes PowerShift: Switch on towing
mode for this purpose, see chapter "Emergency
operation Mercedes PowerShift".

• Secure vehicle to prevent it moving away.
• Start the engine (not if the front axle is raised).
• Charge the compressed air system up to shutoff
pressure.
• Release parking brake.
• Engage a gear if possible.
