Secure vehicle to wheels with tensioning straps and
to axles and transfer bars with chains.

Vehicles with two front axles

Unload a laden vehicle where possible.
•
Raise front axle.
•
Secure front axle on lifting device.
•
Remove wheels from second front axle and secure
brake drums with wheel bolts.

The wheels of the second front axle may not touch
the ground in any driving situation.

If vehicle cannot be unloaded: Tow vehicle to next
unloading opportunity at max.10 km/h.
or
If lifting force of towing vehicle is insufficient to lift both
front axles, tow vehicle to next unloading opportunity as
follows:

Raise vehicle at first front axle.
•
Remove wheels of first front axle.
•
Vehicles with drum brake on front axle:
Secure drum brake with wheel nuts.
•
Remove drag link from second front axle.
•
Lower vehicle until the wheel hubs of the first and
second front axle are at the same height.
•
Tow vehicle to next unloading opportunity or
workshop at max. 10 km/h.

Pay attention to the steering when reversing.
Otherwise you can damage the frame.
•
When reversing, note steering movement of second
front axle. If necessary, reinstall drag link and turn
steering wheel by hand to minimize lateral forces.
