Chapter 4: Installing the GS970EMX/10 Switch on a Wall

Please review "Reviewing Safety Precautions" on page 38 and "Choosing
a Site for the Switch" on page 42 before performing this procedure. This
procedure requires two people.
Warning
The device is heavy. Use both hands to lift it. You might injure
yourself or damage the device if you drop it.  E94
Warning
The device should be installed on the wall by a qualified building
contractor. Serious injury to yourself or others or damage to the
equipment may result if it is not properly fastened to the wall. 

Depending on the selected wall location for the switch, it may be easier to
verify the switch and connect the cables to the ports before mounting the
device on the wall. If this is true for your installation, perform the
procedures in Chapter 5, "Verifying the Switch" on page 69 and Chapter 6,
"Cabling the Networking Ports" on page 77 before performing this
procedure.
If the bumper feet are installed on the bottom panel of the switch, perform
steps 1 and 2 to remove them. Otherwise, start with step 3.
Perform the following procedure to install the switch on a wall:
1. Place the GS970EMX/10 switch upside down on a table or desk. Refer
to Figure 17 on page 53.
2. Remove the four feet from the bottom panel of the switch with a
Phillips-head screwdriver. Refer to Figure 18 on page 54.
3. Have one person hold the switch on the wall at the selected location
and orientation. Be sure to leave sufficient space from other devices or
walls so that you can access the front and back panels.
4. Position the brackets on the wall and mark the bracket screw holes.
Refer to Figure 28 on page 65 and Figure 29 on page 65.
