13. Troubleshooting

RC System
RC system not working
Transmission range too low
Servos do not trigger properly
RC-system works defectively
while the engine is running
Engine or Fuel System
The engine does not start.
Engine does not get any fuel
Transmitter and/or receiver batteries/rechargeable batteries are
flat
Batteries/rechargeable batteries are inserted incorrectly
Plug of the receiver batteries/rechargeable batteries is loose
Transmitter and/or receiver batteries/rechargeable batteries are
weak
Receiver aerial is not fully extended
Receiver aerial is cut off
Transmitter and/or receiver batteries/rechargeable batteries are
weak
Cogwheels in the servo drive do not interlock or are defective
Adjustment rings at the linkage levers are loose
Servo reverse switch on the transmitter was accidentally set to
"REV"
Plug of the receiver batteries/rechargeable batteries is loose
Receiver damaged, e.g. after crash
Defective glow plug or empty start battery
Start battery is defective
Fuel tank is empty or carburettor not filled
Carburettor not set correctly
The fuel is old or contaminated
Combustion chamber full of fuel (flooded)
Auxiliary air is sucked in via fuel line or engine
Servo linkage not set correctly
Fuel line, air filter or exhaust clogged
Main nozzle needle turned in all the way
Idle mix is too lean
Fuel hoses bent
Fuel tank defective
Replace the transmitter and/or receiver batteries/rechargeable
Check the polarity of the batteries/rechargeable batteries
Plug in the plug again firmly
Replace the transmitter and/or receiver batteries/rechargeable
Pull out the aerial wire completely
Have the receiver repaired
Replace the transmitter and/or receiver batteries/rechargeable
Have the servo repaired or replace it.
Fasten the adjustment rings again; use the factory settings
Switch the servo reverser to "NORM"
Plug in the plug again firmly
Have the receiver repaired
Replace glow plug, charge starting rechargeable battery
Replace the starting rechargeable battery
Fill fuel tank and pump fuel to the carburettor
Re-set idle and main nozzle needle
Replace the fuel and check the fuel filter
Unscrew the spark plug and proceed as described in the respective
section
Check/replace the fuel hoses and/or tighten all engine screws
Put servo to the neutral position and re-adjust
Clean clogged parts, replace if required
Reset the main nozzle to the factory setting
Reset the idle mix adjustment screw to the
factory setting
Check and straighten the fuel hoses
Replace the fuel tank
