Vehicle care
9 Warning
As soon as possible after
changing a wheel, you should
have the wheels tightened with
a torque of 150 Newton metre and
have the wheel balanced on the
vehicle. Wheel bolts should be
tightened evenly to the correct
torque in a crisscross pattern while
the vehicle is on the ground.
Wheel bolts which have not been
tightened properly could
eventually allow the wheel to
come off while the vehicle is
moving.
Spare wheel
(If fitted)
The spare wheel is located in the boot
beneath the floor covering. It is
secured in the recess with a wing nut.
The spare wheel well is not designed
for all permitted tyre sizes. If a wheel
wider than the spare must be stowed
in the spare wheel well after changing
wheels, the floor cover can be placed
on the projecting wheel.
Directional tyres
Fit directional tyres so that they roll in
the direction of travel. The rolling
direction is indicated by a symbol
(e.g. an arrow) on the sidewall.
The following applies to tyres fitted
opposing the rolling direction:
■ Driveability may be affected. Have
the defective tyre renewed or
repaired as soon as possible.
■ Do not drive faster than 80 km/h.
■ Drive particularly carefully on wet
and snow-covered road surfaces.
