Driving and operating
9 Warning
Under no circumstances should
you use fuel containing more than
10% ethanol. Use of such fuels
may result in engine malfunction,
starting and operating difficulties,
and materials degradation. These
adverse effects could result in
permanent damage to your
vehicle and the risk of personal
injury. Purchasing your fuel from
a reputable fuel retailer may
reduce the risk of purchasing fuel
with more than 10% ethanol or fuel
which contains abnormal fuel
properties.
Fuel for diesel engines
Only use commercially available
diesel fuel meeting the requirements
of Euro standard EN 590 to operate
diesel engines. The use of biodiesel
containing up to 5% fatty acid methyl
ester ("FAME"), also known as "B5",
is also permitted provided that the
FAME complies with Euro standard
EN 14214 and the resultant B5 blend
complies with Euro standard EN 590.
Do not use marine diesel oils, heating
oils or entirely or partially plant-based
diesel fuels, such as rape seed oil or
bio diesel containing more than 5 %
FAME.
9 Warning
Use only biodiesel blends with
a maximum of 5% FAME and
which meet Euro standard EN
590. Purchasing your fuel from
a reputable fuel retailer may
reduce the risk of purchasing fuel
with more than 5 % FAME or fuel
which contains abnormal fuel
properties. Using a biodiesel that
does not have the certification
referred to above, or has FAME
content exceeding 5%, may cause
serious damage to your vehicle
(including engine failure). Damage
attributable to the use of non-
certified biodiesel is not covered
by your New Vehicle Warranty. In
no event will GM Holden be
responsible or bear any liability for
any damage or loss that may arise
in connection with the use of any
fuel that does not meet this
specification.
