Chapter 2 Preparations

RAID Controller (PCIboard Type-p)

RAID controller (PCI Board) is supported.
RAID controller N8103-195/201 are provided.
1.12.1

Installing RAID Controller

Please prepare the following before installing the option.
Parts included in the option kit
T-10 hexalobular driver
To install the components, follow these steps.
1.
Make sure that the following requirements are met.
Be sure to install the additional battery (N8103-198) for the RAID controller when implementing the
RAID controller (N8103-190/201) equipped with the FBWC function.
If connecting a cable, make sure to connect to a component connector according to the label
attached on the cable.
Confirm that the RAID controller and SAS Expander firmware are updated to the latest versions.
To download install the latest Firmware, visit NEC web site.

As shown in the diagram below, connect Front Disc BP and RAID Controller with SAS Cable.
