Chapter 2 Preparations

RAID controller (PCI Board Type-p)

RAID controller (PCI Board Type-p) is supported.
RAID controller N8103-195/201 are provided.
See Chapter 2 (1.10 PCI board) for performance features.

Installing RAID Controller

Please prepare the following before installing the option.
Parts included in the option kit
T-15 hexalobular driver
To install the components, follow these steps.
1.
Meet the requirements described below.
 Be sure to install the additional battery (N8103-198) for the RAID controller when implementing the
RAID controller (N8103-193/201) equipped with the FBWC function.
 Connect the cable with the connector of the component in accordance with the label on the cable.
 The entire data of the server must be backed up.

See steps 1 to 6 in Chapter 2 (1.2 Overview of Installation and Removal) for preparations.
3.
See Chapter 2 (1.9 Riser Card) for removing the Riser card.
4.
See Chapter 2 (1.10 PCI board) for removing the blank cover of Slot 1 or Slot 2. Controller Board can be fit
into Slot 1 or Slot 2.
5.
Position the terminal part of the PCI card to the PCI riser card slot and insert it carefully.

Important
The surface becomes hot after use so to avoid burns please allow the drive
and internal parts of the system to cool before touching.
Note
In order to prevent the damage to electronic components, please start to install the
system after conducting the appropriate anti-static treatment. There is a possibility
of causing electrostatic discharge if appropriate grounding wire treatment is not
conducted.
