Removal / Replacement

To replace or remove DIMM, follow these steps.
To remove DIMM, reverse the installation procedure.
Be sure to install dummy cover to the slots from where DIMMs are removed.
Please check if there is no error on POST after replacing/removing DIMM.

Memory Function

The device has, as Memory RAS function, "Advanced ECC Function (x4 SDDC)", "Memory Mirroring Function"
and "Memory Sparing Function".
Single Device Data Correction (SDDC) is afunction to restore the data automatically in case one of memory
chips stored on DIMM breaks.
There are 6 systems of CPU equipped with this unit in total; 3 systems of "Memory channel" for every 2 units of
"Memory controllers".
"Memory mirroring function" and "Memory sparing function" keep redundancy by switching between memory
channels for memory monitoring.

Note
When removing a defective DIMM, check error messages displayed at POST or
NEC ESMPRO and check the DIMM socket where the defective DIMM is installed.
