Replacement / Removal

Prepare the following tools before removing the options.
T-30 hexalobular driver
Flat-head screwdriver
To remove CPU, reverse the installation procedure.
Also follow the steps below if the CPU was removed.
1.
Mount the protective cover to CPU socket.
2.
Remove the additional fan unit.
3.
Attach the fan blank cover.
The procedure for removal of the processor from the heat sink is described below.
(1) Check the position of the release slot between the processor and heat sink.
The release slot is placed on the opposite side to the pin 1 mark.
(2) Insert the flat-head screwdriver (1/4-inch width) into the release slot.
Check that the flat-head screwdriver is placed between the processor frame and heat sink.
(3) Rotate the flat-head screwdriver slowly to lift the processor frame from the heat sink.
(4) Remove all the latches from the corners of the processor frame.
(5) Remove the processor frame from the heat sink.
(6) Remove the heat grease from the processor with cleaning liquid.
Important
Do not remove any CPU unless it is failed.
In case you take off the CPU but do not fit a protection cover or dummy
cover, the cooling effect declines and the device may break down.
Note
Do not touch the contact point of the processor.
