The procedure for changing configuration option settings involves the following steps:
1. From the Configuration Menu, select the configuration screen you intend to work with by
typing 1 (Network Configuration), 2 (Channel Configuration), 3 (Cascade Configuration), or 4
(Front Panel Configuration) and pressing the Enter key. The DSU responds by displaying the
selected configuration screen.
2. Type the selection number or letter of an option you intend to change. Highlighting appears on
the current setting field for the corresponding option.
3. Use the up and down arrow keys to toggle the highlighted field through its potential settings.
4. When the desired setting is displayed, press Enter. The highlighting disappears and the field
displays the new setting.
5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each option you need to change.
6. After you've made all required changes, type selection 0 (Return to Previous Menu) and press
the Enter key. The display returns to the Configuration Menu.
7. To put the configuration changes you've made into effect, type S (Save/Update Configuration)
and press the Enter key. You may then select another configuration screen to work with, or
select 0 (Return to Main Menu).
8. The terminal interface will not allow you to exit from the configuration function while there
are unsaved configuration changes. If you attempt to do so by typing 0 to return to the Main
Menu while, the screen displays RESTORE (R) or SAVE (S) Configuration? You
can then type R and press the Enter key to restore the last saved configuration and discard the
pending changes, or type S and press the Enter key to perform the save. In either case, the
terminal interface confirms the selected action and then returns to the Main Menu.
