Start Up S0 Network
A GE 800/GE 300 network with G8-S0/G3-S0-I is started up as follows:
1. Define the calling number system between the Intercom Server housings,

2. Set the system numbers for the single housings. Each housing must be given a unique number
(Server-ID). The system numbers can be set either with the DIP-switches on the G8-GEP/G3-GEM or
with the program CCT 800,
If several housings are connected over G8-NET or CNET, all G8-S0/G3-S0-I must be inserted in one
housing.
3. Per speech link between two Intercom Servers prepare an ISDN Basic Rate Interface,
Basic Rate Interface" on page
During a conversation the number of the conversation partner has to be indicated correctly. If the
number is not indicated, this may have the following reasons:
 "Calling line identification restriction" is activated (from the Telecom provider or directly at the
telephone). "Calling line identification restriction" must be deactivated.
 The MSN ("Multiple Subscriber Number") is configured incorrectly (configuration directly at the
telephone, the setting is stored at the telephone).
4. Connect the individual housings: Connect the G8-S0/G3-S0-I with the S0 interface of the ISDN Basic
Rate Interface, see "Installation" on page
5. Each Intercom Server has to be connected to the PC to define the telephone numbers and code
numbers see "Configuration CCT 800" on page
If all Intercom Servers are configured and the ISDN connections are ok, the whole system can be read
out via one Server housing.

Calling number system

For each G8-S0/G3-S0-I one code number (or several code numbers) have to be configured for each
other Intercom Server housing connected over S0. The calling numbers in the connected Intercom
Server housing have to start with this code number, in the own Intercom Server housing the calling
numbers may not start with this number.
