SCSI backplane combo/backplate
assembly removal
Before you begin:
Read "Safety information" on page 224.
Note
1. The illustrations in this book are similar to your
server; details might vary.
2. To replace the SCSI backplane combo/backplate
assembly, reverse this procedure.
To remove the SCSI backplane combo/backplate
assembly, do the following.
1. Power-off the server and all external devices; then,
disconnect the server from the power source.
2. Remove the server cover. See "Removing the
left-side cover (tower model)" on page 99 or
"Removing the cover (rack model)" on page 100.
3. Remove the SCSI drives. See "Installing a drive in a
hot-swap bay" on page 125.
4. Remove hot-swap fan assemblies 1 and 2 from the
server. See "Replacing a hot-swap fan assembly" on
page 135.
5. Disconnect SCSI backplane cables.
6. Remove the two thumbscrews located on each side
of the SCSI backplane assembly latch.
7. Release the SCSI backplane assembly latch 1 ;
then, slide the SCSI backplane assembly 2 out of
the server.
