Troubleshooting
Cause
The machine's memory is full
because you tried to copy too
many pages at once or a very
detailed document.
The image data is too large to
print from your machine.
The machine's memory is full
because it has received too
many documents, or a very
long or detailed document.
In photo print mode, you tried
to print photographs when the
machine's memory was full of
received faxes yet to be
deleted, or documents waiting
to be redialed.
The recipient's fax machine
does not answer.
The fax/telephone number is
not registered in the directory.

The data on the memory card
may be inaccessible.
There is a problem with the
card slot.

Action
Divide the document and copy each
part separately.
Print the image data from your
computer.
Contact the sender and have him/her
divide and resend them.
Print any documents stored in
memory. Then start again.
Check the number. Try dialing
again after waiting for a moment.
Register the fax/telephone number
in the directory.
Make sure you have recorded
images in the appropriate format on
the memory card.
Press [Black].
Press [Color].
Check the data on the memory card
in your digital camera.
Try switching to another mode or
turning the machine OFF and ON. If
the message remains, contact the
Canon Customer Care Center.
Install the print head.
Load paper in the multi-purpose
tray.
Replace an ink tank.
Clear the paper jam.
