Lift the document guides to open the
ADF (Automatic Document Feeder).
• If the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder)
does not open easily, slide the document
guides outward and then open the ADF
(Automatic Document Feeder).
• Or slide the Document Feed Lever to either
the automatic or manual setting.

Do not touch the components
shown or any metal parts since this
may adversely affect operation of
the unit and/or affect print quality.

Use a clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth to
remove any ink or paper debris from
the unit's interior (shaded area),
especially around the platen.
• Be careful not to touch the BJ cartridge or
its holder.

Check the small black rollers. If they
are dirty, clean them with a soft, dry
toothbrush.

When you are finished, close the ADF
(Automatic Document Feeder).
