1. Disconnect the spark plug cap.
2. Drain the fuel tank (P.
3. Loosen the Smart Drive cable adjuster
4. Rotate the left rear wheel and adjuster fully clockwise,
and the right rear wheel and adjuster fully
counterclockwise until the two front handle stay 8 mm
flange bolts are visible on each side.
5. Protect the upper handle pipe and tip the mower up and
secure the upper handle pipe in a bench vise.
6. Remove the blade and blade holder
7. Remove the belt cover and rear scroll
8. Remove the belt guide.
9. Remove the drive pulley and separate the belt from the
drive pulley (P. 3-4).
Leave the belt attached to the transmission.
10. Push down on the transmission control arm as shown,
and disconnect the Smart Drive cable from the
transmission control arm.
11. Remove the belt tension spring from the cable holder
and the transmission control arm.
12. Remove the wheel bolt, wheel, wheel washer, and flat
washer from each side.
