5.7.2 Changing a Single Spoke on the Front Wheel [Slotted Hub]

Preparatory Steps
Dismount the wheel.
Dismount the tire and if necessary the tube and the rim tape.
Clean the wheel and check for damages.
Loosen the spoke.
1. Take off the end cap by hand.
2. Check if there is a washer (PHR washer) on the
nipple.
3. Take the spoke with the nipple out of the rim.
If there is a PHR washer: Take care that the
washer does not fall into the rim profile.
4. Take the other end of the spoke out of the hub.
5. Put on a new spoke.
