SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
EMS and the dealer of this product accept no liability for direct or conse-
quential injury or damage resulting from improper use, arising in particular
through non-observance of the operating instructions, or improper prepa-
ration and maintenance.
Use for the intended purpose only: before using the product, make
sure that you have studied the operating instructions. This also applies to
any equipment used with this product. Failure to observe the operating
instructions may result in the patient or user suffering serious injury or the
product being damaged, possibly beyond repair.
Risk of explosion: do not use this product in the presence of inflam-
mable anaesthetics or gases.
This product must be used only by trained and qualified personnel.
Before each use, clean, disinfect and sterilize the different pieces
and accessories of this product. Please refer to the information provided in
the operating instructions. Non-sterile pieces and accessories may cause
bacterial or viral infections.
Use only the powder recommended by EMS for the subgingival
application when the PERIO-FLOW handpiece is connected to the unit. Any
other powder could cause premature wear of the nozzle and would conse-
quently increase the risk of emphysema and damage to the unenameled
dentine.
This product has been investigated with regard to safety from
electrical shock and fire hazard. CSA (Canadian Standard Association)
has not investigated physiological effects.
The powders provided by EMS are specially designed for use with
the unit. Do not use powders from other manufacturers as this could
damage the unit or could adversely affect its efficiency.
Never use an abrasive powder i.e. based on silica or alumina. This
would damage the unit.
Close the powder chamber after use, risk of device obstruation
Always examine the product for damage before starting treatment.
Damaged accessories or a damaged unit must not be used and must be
replaced. Use original EMS spare parts and accessories only.
Have this product exclusively repaired by an approved EMS repair
center.
