SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

EMS and the dealer of this product accept no liability for direct or consequential injury or damage resulting
from improper use, arising in particular through non-observance of the operation instructions, or improper
preparation and maintenance.
Use for the intended purpose only. Before using the product, make sure that the manual has been
read. This also applies to any equipment used with this product. Failure to observe the operation instruc-
tions may result in the patient or user suffering serious injury or the product being damaged, possibly
beyond repair.
Risk of explosion: Do not use this product in the presence of inflammable anaesthetics or gases.
This product must be used only by trained and qualified personnel (dentist or dental hygienist).
Before each use, clean, disinfect and sterilize the different pieces and accessories of this product
(nozzles excepted). Please refer to the information provided in the operation instructions. Non-sterile
pieces and accessories may cause bacterial or viral infections.
Use only the powder recommended by EMS for the subgingival application when using the
AIR-FLOW handy PERIO. Any other powder could cause premature wear of the nozzle and would
increase the risk of emphysema and damage to the unenameled dentine.
The single use nozzle must be used for one single patient only. Never reuse a nozzle because
treatment will be ineffective and the risk of emphysema will increase.
In order to avoid the use of any inappropriate powders, it is highly recommended to always empty
the powder chamber after use.
The powders provided by EMS are especially designed for use with the unit. Do not use powders
from other manufacturers as this could damage the unit or could adversely affect its efficiency.
Never use "EMS Abrasive Powder" in the unit as this would damage it.
Always examine the product for damage before starting the treatment. Damaged accessories or
a damaged device must not be used and must be replaced. Use original EMS spare parts and acces-
sories only.
Have this product exclusively repaired by an approved EMS repair center.
