6.5.4. RS-485 PC serial interface test.
The RS-485 PC serial interface test allows you to check the proper transmission and receipt of serial data through the D-SUB 9
Female connector that is used also for RS-232C PC connection. The test can be executed only with a special unit T-RS485 as
in the following figure.
T-RS485 to Euro-2000T Alpha connection:
Test initiation:
1) Switch the cash register to ,,P“ mode.
2) Insert the T-RS485 unit to the PC connector and to the drawer connector.
3) Press 504 on numerical keyboard.
4) Press the key
Test description:
1) The CPU transmits the check byte from the drawer connector through the T-RS485 to the input of RS-485
interface. The byte is evaluated by the microcontroller.
2) The CPU transmits the check byte from the RS-485 interface through the T-RS485 to the drawer connector. The
byte is evaluated by the microcontroller.
3) A successful test result must be checked on the display, and the termination message must be printed.
