Specifications

Earth Ground Lug (⏚) – connection point for a heavy-gage earth-
ground wire. A good earth connection is necessary to secure the
ground potential of the CDM-A100 and shunt transients away from
electronics. 14 AWG wire, minimum, is recommended.
The removable Power connector is the connection point for external power
supply components. The power supply must be in the range of 10 to 32 Vdc.
The CDM-A100 can be used as a power source for sensors. The following
voltage terminals are available:
12V and SW12V – Regulated 12 Vdc when the supply voltage is 14.5
to 32 Vdc. Below 14.5 Vdc, the voltage tracks the power supply.
Current output is limited to 200 mA.
SW5V – See Section 6.5.3, Switched 5 Vdc
voltage and current sourcing limits.
One micro-B USB port, labeled USB, for communicating with a PC through

CPI
is a proprietary protocol that supports CDMs. Two RJ45 ports labeled
(p. 32)
CPI enable communications with a Campbell Scientific datalogger and other
CDMs.
When the CDM-A100 has successfully been configured by a datalogger, the
COMM Status
LED
will flash green. For scan rates 500 ms or slower, it
(p. 32)
will flash at the scan rate. For faster scan rates, the LED will flash green every
few scans. See TABLE 10-2, COMM Status LED Activity

All CDM-A100 units are tested to meet electrical specifications in a standard
–40 to 70 °C, or extended –55 to 85 °C, non-condensing environment.
Recommended calibration interval is every three years.
