NOTICE: No other type of coolant should
be mixed with the coolant type specified
in the recommended lubricants section
of this handbook, or degradation of the
cooling system may result.
NOTICE: Using an incorrect coolant
mixture may result in expensive damage
to the engine and/or other components
caused by overheating, freezing or corro-
sive effects. Such damage is not covered
by the New Vehicle Warranty.
In order to control heat soak effects after
engine shut down, a coolant re-circulation
pump may be heard running, possibly
supplemented by the cooling fans, during
a 20 minute period after switching off the
ignition.

CHARGE COOLER RESERVOIR

Charge Cooler Reservoir
To maintain optimum performance, su-
percharged air is cooled before it enters
the engine using an air-to-liquid charge
cooler system.
The charge cooler system utilises its own
dedicated coolant circuit with a coolant
reservoir mounted on the left hand side of
the engine bay. The reservoir has no visual
markings or labels attached and, under
normal circumstances, it should not be
necessary to add any coolant.
Because inspection of the charge cooler
coolant level will require releasing the
reservoir from its mounting screws, it is
recommended that this operation is only
carried out by your authorised Lotus deal-
ership as part of the recommended service
schedule operations.

Power Assisted Steering Fluid Reservoir
The Power Assisted Steering (PAS) fluid
reservoir is located at the right hand rear
corner of the engine bay and under normal
circumstances it should not be necessary
to add any PAS fluid.
Because inspection of the fluid level re-
quires the removal of the right hand rear
engine bay hot air outlet vent, it is recom-
mended that this operation is only carried
out by your authorised Lotus dealership as
part of the recommended service schedule
operations.
