Tell Tale Lamps/Warnings

Tell tale lamps are incorporated within the
central dial area of the instrument panel
to provide important information about
various vehicle systems.

Bulb Check

In order to check that the warning systems
are operative, all the tell tale lamps (ex-
cept for the security tell tale; see 'Keys &
Security Alarm' section) should illuminate
for approximately 3 - 6 seconds following
ignition switch on. If any lamp fails to illumi-
nate, it is possible that the bulb or warning
circuit may be faulty; see your authorised
Lotus dealer without delay.

Tell Tale Lamp Illumination

A tell tale light flashing constantly or
permanently illuminated whilst driving
may indicate a fault in the operation of
the system concerned. Do not ignore any
illuminated warning lights; contact your
authorised Lotus dealer without delay.

Left/Right Hand Turn Indicators
A left turn tell tale is incorporated into the
upper face of the tachometer and a right
turn tell tale in the speedometer face.
When the left hand or right hand turn
indicators are operating the appropriate
tell tale will flash in unison with an audible
tone. Both tell tales will Illuminate when

If the indicators stay on or flash fast,

Parking Lamp Tell Tale
Illuminates with side lamp activation and
remains illuminated when the dip and
main beams are selected.
Dip Beam Tell Tale
Illuminates whenever the headlamp dip
beams are operating.
Main Beam Tell Tale
Illuminates whenever the headlamp main
beams are operating.

been selected (see page 64).

Electrical Fault Tell Tale

The Engine Control Module (ECM) is also
used to manage various related electrical
systems and is able to detect certain types
of fault, which may or may not be apparent
to the driver. If such a fault is detected,
which has no detrimental effect on exhaust
emissions (see MIL tell tale information
on page 48) this tell tale will illuminate for
the first 30 seconds after turning on the
ignition. Consult your dealer at the next
opportunity to investigate and rectify the
fault.
Low Fuel Level
Will illuminate when only a single segment
of the fuel gauge bar graph remains,
representing approximately 5 litres(1.3
US gallons approximately). The amber
tell tale will flash accompanied by a 1
second audible chime. Refuel at the next
opportunity (see page 42).
