It is essential to replace the entire seat
belt assembly if it has been used in a
severe impact, even if damage to the as-
sembly is not obvious. In situations where
the airbags have been deployed, the front
seat belt pre-tensioner systems must
also be replaced and the seat belt anchor-
age points rigorously checked.

Rear Seat Belt Fitment

(2+2 Models fitted with rear seats)
To fit: Sit erect and fully back in the seat,
hold the buckle tongue (A) and pull the
belt (B), slowly and smoothly from the
retractor.
To engage: Lay the belt over the body before
pushing the tongue in to the buckle lock
(C), at the inboard side of the seat until a
positive 'click' is heard. Pull on the belt to
check for correct latching and ensure that
the belt fits snugly against the body with
all the slack taken up by the reel.
The belt should be worn low across the
front of the pelvis and across the chest
and shoulder.
To release: press the red button (D), on the
belt buckle.

Seat Belt Tell Tale

The seat belt tell tale located within the
instrument panel WILL NOT illuminate or
emit an audible tone to indicate that a rear
seat belt is not fastened. Therefore ensure
that all passengers (front and rear) always
wear seat belts and wear them properly.
WARNING
In the event of a severe impact,
passengers in the rear seat who are
not wearing a seat belt or wearing
it incorrectly are not only at risk of
personal serious injury or death, but
also place the occupants in the front
seats in danger if they are thrown far
enough forward out of the rear seat and
into the front cabin area.
