- Following manufacturers' in-
structions, release the jack and
lower the vehicle to the ground.
- Fully tighten the bolts to a torque
of 105 Nm (77.5 lbf.ft).
Wheel Alignment & Tire Balance
Scheduled wheel alignment and
balancing are not required, but
general wear and tear caused by
potholes, kerb strikes etc, can
result in suspension geometry
misalignment outside of the serv-
ice tolerance.
If unusual tire wear, pulling of
the car to one side or the other,
or shaking of the steering wheel
is noticed, the wheel alignment
and/or balance may need attention
from your dealer or tire depot.

Wheel Replacement

Any wheel that is bent, cracked,
corroded or otherwise damaged
should be renewed. If the wheel
bolts come loose after having been
correctly fitted, the wheel and bolts
should be replaced. If the wheel
leaks air, have it replaced.
See your Lotus dealer if any of
these conditions arise and ensure
that only Lotus approved wheels
and wheel bolts are used.
WARNING
Using incorrect, or non-approved
replacement wheels or wheel
bolts could be dangerous. It could
affect the braking and handling of
your car or cause tire deflation
and result in an accident. Always
use Lotus approved wheels and
wheel bolts, tightened to 105 Nm
(77 lbf.ft).
WHEELS & TIRES
WARNING
Putting a used wheel on your car
is dangerous. It may have been
subjected to a heavy impact and
suffered structural damage which
cannot be seen, and lead to break-
age causing an accident.
Dirt or corrosion on a wheel or hub
mounting flange, or oil or grease on
the wheel bolts or hub threads, or
using incorrect wheel bolts, or the
wrong tightening torque could all
cause the bolts to come loose and
the wheel to come off, resulting in
an accident.
Extra vigilance is required for cars
used for occasional non-competi-
tive track usage due to the severity
of operating conditions. Careful
inspection of all wheels must be
carried out before and after each
session. Please see page 10 'Track
Use & Competitive Use' for further
information.
