Updating the BIOS
BIOS updates are recommended to correct platform issues or enhance the feature set of the module. The conga-MA5 features a congatec/AMI
AptioEFI firmware on an onboard flash ROM chip. You can update the firmware with the congatec System Utility. The utility has five versions—
UEFI shell, DOS based command line
For more information about "Updating the BIOS" refer to the user's guide for the congatec System Utility "CGUTLm1x.pdf" on the congatec
website at www.congatec.com.

Caution
The DOS
command line tool is not officially supported by congatec and therefore not recommended for critical tasks such as firmware
updates. We recommend to use only the UEFI shell for critical updates.

Supported Flash Devices
The conga-MA5 supports the following flash device:
• Winbond W25Q64JVSSIQ (8 MB)
The flash devices listed above can be used on the carrier board for external BIOS support. For more information about external BIOS support,
refer to the Application Note "AN7_External_BIOS_Update.pdf" on the congatec website at www.congatec.com.
